Search for a place, or tap one on the map, and add it from its card. Detour puts it where it fits best on the route. Touch and hold the add button to choose the spot yourself.

Open the trip menu and choose Reorder stops to drag them into a new order, or Optimize route to let Detour find an order with less driving. The route follows when you save.

Tap any stop to open its card: photos, the weather for the coming days with your trip's days marked when the forecast reaches them, and, with Detour Pro, a written description of the place.

Open the trip menu and choose Route preferences. You can keep off toll roads, motorways, ferries or unpaved roads for the whole trip.

Yes. Tap the drive time between two stops and choose Leg preferences to change that leg only.

Sometimes a road you asked to avoid is the only way through. Detour still routes the leg and dashes the part that could not avoid it, so you know where it is.

Build me a trip: say where you start and how far you like to drive, and Detour builds the whole day, with Try another, Swap and Skip. Pro also adds Highlights along the route, up to ten places worth a detour near each stop, a written description and tips for every place, and no limit on active trips.

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Detour.

Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account, then tap Restore purchases on the Detour Pro screen.

Open the trip menu, choose Share trip, then Start sharing. Anyone with the link can follow the trip as you change it, or make their own copy. Stop sharing turns the link off for everyone.

Not unless you choose it. If the trip starts or ends somewhere that is not a named place, the link shows it only at town level. You can set Start and finish to Exact in the Share trip menu.

On a place card, tap the navigate button and pick Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze. After that, a tap opens the app you used; touch and hold the button to pick another. Apple Maps opens a route preview, then you tap Go.

Yes. Open the trip menu and choose Export GPX (a trip needs at least two stops), then send the file to any device or app that reads GPX.

No. Detour backs up your trips on its own whenever you are online, with nothing to sign up for. To get them back on a new iPhone, Sign in with Apple in Settings, under Account & backup.

In Detour, open Settings, then Account & backup, then Delete account. This deletes your account, every trip on your phone and your backup on our servers.
